MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa ( KCCI ) - A Marshalltown school employee was charged after police say she had an inappropriate relationship with a former student, KCCI reports.
Stacy Galema, who is listed as an assistant soccer coach on the school district’s website, is charged with sexual exploitation and lascivious conduct with a minor.
According to a criminal complaint, a former student reported having a relationship with Galema between 2014 and 2020.
The former student said the relationship began before they were in 9th grade and ended after they graduated, according to court documents.
The school district has placed Galema on administrative leave. Officials said they are working with police as the investigation continues.
