KEOKUK COUNTY, Iowa ( KCCI ) - The driver of a hayrack ride that crashed and injured kids in Keokuk County is out of prison on bond.
Daniel Brubaker was sentenced to 15 years in September after pleading guilty in July to three counts of neglect of a dependent person and 10 counts of child endangerment.
Brubaker admitted to drinking before the 2023 crash.
Court records show Brubaker is appealing his child endangerment conviction and was released on bond. He received 10 years on each neglect charge and 5 years on each endangerment charge.
Former Keokuk County Sheriff David Heady Jr. was also convicted on 13 counts of child endangerment for his role in the crash and sentenced to 10 years in prison last month.
