GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - A bill to reopen the federal government passed this week in Congress, but that bill also contains a provision that could lead to the ban of over 95 percent THC products.
Local hemp shops and customers say the provision can negatively impact revenues and people who utilize hemp products for medical and health reasons.
“It definitely is surprising considering that this helps a lot of people, especially our community and different people like that,” Jasmine Page, with The Holistic Co, said. “I’m a cancer survivor, so I use these products to help me with my different ailments, so it definitely was disheartening for a lot of us.”
The bill does allow for products with under .4 mg of THC to be sold; however, the U.S. Hemp Roundtable, which advocates for inclusive law
