LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A free dental clinic in Lincoln is looking to raise some money, to help cover a wider variety of care for patients.
The clinic is part of the People’s City Mission’s free health clinic just north of the shelter at 2nd and Q streets, and is entirely run by volunteers and donations.
One of the dentists, Dr. Farrah Plate, says she’s been volunteering at the PCM clinic every week for the past seven years, and recently won the 2025 Inspire Award for Excellence in Healthcare.
Now, she wants to use the recognition to do more good for patients who need above and beyond care, through what she’s calling the Smile Restoration Fund.
“I just think everybody deserves better, right? Not just people with money,” Plate said.
