Isaac “Big Fish” Johnson scored 25 points, including 20 in the second half, to power the Hawaii basketball team to an 86-56 rout of Manhattan in tonight’s second round of the Outrigger Rainbow Classic.
A crowd of 2,349 saw the Rainbow Warriors win their second in a row entering today’s final round in Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
Johnson, a 7-foot transfer from Utah State, celebrated each of his four 3-point shots with gestures, including what he has termed a two-armed “Big Fish Chomp.” On one play, Johnson stepped back across the arc to swish a corner 3. He also put down two dunks — one off an Isaac Finlinson missed jumper, another from an Isaiah Kerr lob.
Finlinson contributed 14 points, with 11 coming after the intermission.
