Fire chief in Coeur d’Alene announces retirement after nearly 30 years

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Coeur d’Alene’s Fire Chief, Tom Greif, has announced his retirement after nearly three decades with the department.

Greif will be stepping down in April of next year. He joined the department in 1997 and was appointed chief in 2022.

Reflecting on his time with the department, Greif said, “Serving the Coeur d’Alene community has been the honor of a lifetime.”
