State Pensioners may be able to claim more money than the basic amounts they're due if they have any of the following conditions.

This is via Attendance Allowance, which offers a bonus payment to those with either mental or physical disabilities.

The Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) has revealed that 1.7 million Brits are already claiming the benefit.

The benefit comes in two rates, either £73.90 or £110.40 on a weekly basis, depending on if you receive the lower or higher amount.

Attendance Allowance is paid every four weeks, totalling either £295.60 or £441.60 per pay period.

This equates to a maximum of £5,740.80 over the current financial year.
