Dear Carol: I’ve recently taken over managing my parents’ prescriptions. They each have long lists of drugs and prepare pill boxes for daily use. While they seem to be doing this efficiently, neither of them seems to know much about what each drug is for. They just say that the doctor ordered them. I’ve checked the healthcare portals, and the medications are all listed, but I’d like more information about what they are for and how safe they are to take together. Some of these they’ve taken for years. Since they each have several doctors for various issues, I don’t know where to start. – VS
