The deadline to file a claim in AT&T’s $177 million data breach settlement is fast approaching.

Eligible customers have until Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, to submit their claims. If you had an AT&T account between 2019 and 2024, you may be eligible for compensation.

The settlement stems from two separate data breaches in 2024 that exposed sensitive customer information, including Social Security numbers, phone records, and account details. Customers affected by the March 30, 2024 breach or the July 12, 2024 breach may be eligible for compensation.

Those impacted by the March breach can claim up to $5,000 for documented losses, while those affected by the July breach can claim up to $2,500. Customers who were affected by both breaches may qualify for a combined payout of up to $7,500.

AT&T has not admitted liability but agreed to the settlement to resolve claims related to the breaches. Official notices have been sent to affected customers, and eligibility can be verified using a name, email, AT&T account number, or settlement ID.

To file a claim, visit the official settlement website at www.telecomdatasettlement.com. Claims can be submitted online or postmarked by Dec. 18. Customers with questions can call the settlement help line at 833-890-4930.

The breaches, which AT&T attributed to unauthorized access to data potentially involving third-party vendors, impacted over 7 million current accounts and 65 million former accounts.

AT&T has stated, “While AT&T has made this determination, it is not yet known whether the data in those fields originated from AT&T or one of its vendors.”

The settlement includes provisions for credit monitoring services for affected customers. However, those wishing to opt out of the settlement must do so by Monday, Nov. 17, 2025.

Final payment amounts will depend on the number of claims submitted and documented losses. A court hearing to finalize the settlement is scheduled for January 2026.
