A gas station worker is accused of selling tobacco to an underage customer at a Bellport business, Suffolk County Police announced on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 10:37 a.m.
Nurettin Bayram, 29, was charged after Fifth Precinct Crime Section officers launched an investigation into Gulf Gas on Station Road in response to community complaints, according to the release.
An underage agent went into the gas station at 10:37 a.m. and successfully bought tobacco products, police said. Bayram was then charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Minor 2nd Degree and issued a field appearance ticket, authorities said. His arraignment will be scheduled for a later date.
