KENTUCKY, USA — After weeks of uncertainty for thousands of Kentucky families, Governor Andy Beshear has announced that all Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funds should be released by Saturday within the state. The update brings long-awaited relief to households who have been without their November benefits.
The pause in SNAP payments has sent ripples across Kentuckiana, particularly affecting food pantries that serve vulnerable children. At the REACH! Food Program 4 Kids, demand has surged sharply in just a few weeks.
The New Albany–based pantry delivers to families in southern Indiana as well as Jefferson and Bullitt counties in Kentucky. Regional Director Belinda Wright said the growing need has been unmistakable.
