FRANKFORT, Ky. —

Gov. Andy Beshear's office announced that eligible Kentuckians should receive full SNAP benefits beginning Saturday.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program funding came to a halt during the 43-day government shutdown . While the shutdown ended Wednesday, many Kentuckians had been left wondering when they would receive their full SNAP benefits.

Kentucky was one of several states that were able to issue partial benefits during the shutdown following a federal ruling in favor of partially restoring benefits. Beshear also declared a state of emergency during the shutdown to direct $5 million to Feeding Kentucky food banks.
