Residents of Grand Isle no longer need to boil their water.
Jefferson Parish lifted a boil water advisory Saturday for parts of Grand Isle from the Jefferson-Lafourche parish line to the Andy P. Valence Memorial Bridge.
Authorities had issued the precautionary advisory Thursday after the fire department tested too many hydrants at the same time, dropping the system's water pressure, the water department said in a press release.
By Saturday, pressure had been restored and bacteriological samples had been tested, according to the department. "No more precautionary actions are necessary."
