A train worker who shielded passengers during a mass stabbing and was knifed in the process has been discharged from hospital.
Samir Zitouni, 48, was a member of the catering crew on the Doncaster to London King’s Cross Service on November 1, when an attack took place.
He was taken to hospital with stab wounds and was initially said to be in a critically but stable condition.
Eleven people in total were treated for injuries.
In a statement released by the British Transport Police, his family said: ‘We are so grateful for the outpouring of support from the public, and very touched by all the kind words about Sam’s brave actions on the night of the attack.’
