BOSTON —
Cassidy had something to celebrate.
She was two days away from graduating with honors from Northeastern University’s engineering program and about to start a new job when she went out to a senior week event at a bar in Boston with friends.
She says she had a few drinks at the event and then told her friends she was going to go home early.
“I just told them, ‘I'm going to go home. You guys have your fun. I don't want to hold anyone back,’” she recalled.
So, she called a Lyft, and her friends waited with her outside until the ride pulled up.
“Pretty much as soon as I stepped into the car, that's when my memory got very hazy,” she said.
She remembers feeling like she was being driven in circles and then waking up the next morning at home.
