SOUTHEAST MISSOURI (KFVS) - The United States Geological Survey (USGS) recorded not one, not two, not three, but four earthquakes near the Bootheel this week.
According to the USGS, the first one was reported on Sunday, November 9. It was about 4.6 miles from Ridgely, Tennessee, which is west of Caruthersville, Missouri. It had a depth of 6.9 km and a 2.7 magnitude.
13 people reported feeling the quake.
Then, two days later, a second quake was recorded about 2 miles south of Blytheville, Arkansas. This is about 21 miles from Kennett, Mo.
It had a depth of 11.5 km and a 1.7 magnitude. No one reported feeling it.
On Friday, Nov. 14, USGS recorded another earthquake in Tennessee, between Portageville and Caruthersville. Its depth was 6.5 km, and its magnitude was registered at 1.7. No on
