US Senator John Fetterman is back home recovering — and even shared a smiling photo showing the injuries he suffered — after a fall near his Pennsylvania home left him hospitalized, his office announced on Saturday, Nov. 15.
Fetterman had been hospitalized in Pittsburgh after a fall near his home in Braddock during an early morning walk on Thursday, Nov. 13, when a ventricular fibrillation flare-up caused him to feel light-headed and fall to the ground, according to a statement posted on his X account that day. He struck his face, leaving visible cuts and bruising.
He remained under observation so doctors could fine-tune his medication regimen, his spokesperson said.
On Saturday, Nov. 15, the senator posted a photo showing him smiling with stitched wounds on his forehead, nose, and cheek while holding a drink. In the update, he said he received “20 stitches” and had made a “full recovery” before returning home to his wife, Gisele, and their children.
“I’m overwhelmed + profoundly grateful for all the well-wishes,” he wrote. He thanked medical staff and praised UPMC “for the incredible medical care that put me back together.”
“THANK YOU SO MUCH,” he added, noting he plans to return to Washington, DC.
