HOUGHTON, Mich. — No postgame dinner reservation is safe when the Bemidji State men’s hockey team is playing.

For the sixth time in their last eight games, the Beavers went to overtime, falling 2-1. Michigan Tech’s Max Koskipirtti scored the winner a minute and 35 seconds into the 3-on-3 session to snag the extra point up for grabs.

Both Bemidji State (7-5-2, 5-1-2 CCHA) and Michigan Tech (8-3-1, 5-0-1 CCHA) each earned three points in the two-game series after BSU claimed the shootout point in a 2-2 tie on Friday.

Reilly Funk got the scoring started for the Beavers 11 minutes into the first period on a controversial goal.

Funk took a bad-angle shot that squeezed inside the crossbar, according to the officials on the ice. The play was upheld after a lengthy review, resulting in a 1-0 B
