It had been a little over two months since Penn State won a football game. Six straight losses, a coaching change and the starting quarterback out for the year with an injury. But Saturday the Nittany Lions broke through in a big way, thumping Michigan State, 28-10 in East Lansing.

Players celebrated by dousing interim head coach Terry Smith in multiple Gatorade baths and then hoisted him up and carried him to midfield.

Then it was time for claiming the Land Grant Trophy. Offensive linemen Anthony Donkoh, Vega Ioane and Nolan Rucci took charge of the 76 pound treasure, carrying it into the locker room.
