New unemployment figures show that more than 13,000 people across Coventry are unemployed - and one area stands out as the place where more people are struggling to find work.

In Coventry North East 7.4% of working age people are claiming unemployment benefits - a total of 5,525 people. That’s around 1 in 13 people in the constituency who are out of work.

In comparison Coventry North West has an unemployment rate of 5.3% while in Coventry South it’s 5.4%.

The West Midlands unemployment rate stands at 5.4% while in the UK it’s 4%.
