Following an unusually mild beginning to November, winter is poised to arrive with force. ‌

Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing next week, with fresh weather maps revealing a substantial blanket of snow moving across the UK. ‌

New data from WX Charts indicates that by 6am on Wednesday, November 19, a 500-mile-long snow front will extend from John O' Groats at Scotland's northern tip all the way down to London. ‌

Certain areas are predicted to see up to 20 inches and the most significant accumulations are anticipated in the coldest parts of northern Scotland, where the most recent model even indicates up to 39 inches on elevated terrain.
