A Scottish woman who was killed alongside four others in a horror crash in the Republic of Ireland has been named by police. ‌

Chloe Hipson, 21, from Bellshill in Lanarkshire, died in the incident which happened on Ardee Road on the L3168 in the townland of Gibstown in Dundalk, County Louth. ‌

Emergency services raced to the scene after the alarm was raised shortly after 9pm on Saturday, November 15. ‌

Gardaí , Irish police, confirmed that five occupants of a Volkswagen Golf - three men and two women - were killed in the collision.

Officers have since confirmed that one of the victims was Ms Hipson. The crash involved the Volkswagen Golf and a Toyota Land Cruiser. ‌
