Strong wind gusts have knocked out power to more than 12,000 homes and businesses across New Jersey on Sunday.
The National Weather Service has issued wind advisories for 16 counties through 7 p.m. and until 10 p.m. along the Jersey Shore with gusts up to 50 mph possible.
The strongest gusts are expected late Sunday morning through early evening as winds shift to the west and northwest at 35 to 45 mph, the weather service said.
Utility outages as of 12:45 p.m.:
JCP&L: 5,837 outages
PSE&G: 4,297 outages
Atlantic City Electric: 2,273 outages
Rockland: 33 outages
The severe winds may continue to impact power infrastructure throughout the day.
