Yorkton RCMP are investigating a fatal collision that occurred early Saturday evening.

According to police, officers were called to Mayhew Avenue on Nov. 15 around 5:40 p.m. after receiving a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

Emergency Medical Services transported the pedestrian to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

RCMP say the driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

Police have identified the victim as an 86-year-old man from Yorkton, and have notified his family.

The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
