CAMBRIDGE, Mass. —

A rally at the Massachusetts State House Sunday sought to raise awareness on road safety and two pieces of legislation that attendees urged state lawmakers to pass.

Over 300 people have died on Massachusetts roads and highways so far in 2025.

The most recent fatal crash happened Sunday morning on Route 24 in West Bridgewater. Police did not confirm the victim's identities in the crash, but are continuing to investigate.

Over 100 bikers and walkers made their way from Cambridge to the State House in a push for legislators to pass tougher laws that would prevent deaths on Massachusetts roads.

Two of the rally's attendees were the parents of Sidney Olson, a five-year-old girl who died while crossing an Andover street in 2023.
