DANVILLE, Vt. (WCAX) - The Danville School will upgrade its security measures, using federal grants to install a new emergency communication system, security cameras and always-locked classroom doors.
School officials said the funding allowed for crucial upgrades to a building where the oldest section dates to 1937 and the newest to 1989.
“Our first responders are fantastic, and they were excellent supporters of this grant as well, and we live in a rural area, where if there’s another emergency happening elsewhere, you know we need to make sure that our systems are as secure and as up-to-date and as efficient as they possibly can be,” said Natalie Conway, Danville Middle and High School principal.
