TALLADEGA, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Multiple fire units are battling a wildland fire in Talladega Sunday evening.
According to the city of Talladega, the Alabama Forestry Commission, Talladega Fire Department, and local volunteer units are battling a wildland fire in the Renfroe area of Talladega County.
The city is urging the public to avoid the area to ensure that emergency personnel can operate effectively. The city also says heavy smoke may affect surrounding communities and drivers should exercise caution.
At this time, no evacuations are ordered, but officials say residents should stay alert and be ready for any instructions or updates.
