A Sunday morning, Nov. 16, crash on Mount Rose Highway near the summit killed one person, Nevada State Police said.
Troopers responded at about 8:57 a.m. to a two-vehicle collision near Washoe mile marker 8 on State Route 431 in Incline Village. One person died at the scene.
A preliminary investigation indicates a westbound vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and crossed into the eastbound lane, striking an oncoming vehicle, NSP said.
The crash temporarily closed the highway between Slide Mountain Ski Bowl Highway and Tahoe Meadows on Sunday.
Authorities will release more information after notifying family.
