The mother just weeks away from giving birth when she was killed in a horror crash in Sydney has been identified.
Samanvitha Dhareshwar, 33, who was eight months pregnant, was walking with her husband and three-year-old son along George St in Hornsby about 8pm on Friday when tragedy struck.
Police said a Kia Carnival had slowed to let the family cross when it was rear-ended by a BMW allegedly being driven by 19-year-old P-plater Aaron Papazoglu.
The impact pushed the Kia forward, hitting Dhareshwar as she crossed the carpark entrance.
She suffered catastrophic injuries and was rushed to Westmead Hospital, but sadly, both she and her unborn child could not be saved.
The BMW driver and the Kia driver escaped injury but were taken for mandatory testing.
Papazoglu was later arrested at
