A freshman Louisville lawmaker has been selected to serve as the Kentucky House Democratic whip.

The caucus elected Rep. Joshua Watkins, who began his first term in the legislature earlier this year, during the lawmakers’ annual conference in Berea, a press release said. He succeeds Rep. Lindsey Burke, of Lexington.
