Slushy accumulations are possible Monday night through Tuesday morning as a storm system slides through the region, delivering rain and snow to southern Minnesota.
"Snowfall accumulations of 1-3" are expected by Tuesday morning in a narrow swath from southern Minnesota up to the southern Twin Cities metro," says the National Weather Service.
"Plan on a slow & slippery commute Tuesday morning!"
Temps will rise into the 40s on Monday, and the precipitation will start as rain before temps cool after dark a transition to a wintry mix and snow unfolds. The earlier the transition begins, the more snow potential there is.
