A Baltimore City Council committee will get an update this week on the plan to deal with vacant and abandoned properties in Baltimore.
The Housing and Economic Development Committee will meet Tuesday afternoon to review and discuss the city’s policies surrounding its “whole block” strategy.

The plan involves taking on vacant properties; block by block, to transform entire city neighborhoods.
The city will use more than $2 billion over two decades to fund the project. A recent study found Baltimore has 15,000 vacant homes and 20,000 vacant lots.
