MAYSLICK, Ky. (WXIX) - A laser was pointed at and gunshots were fired toward a Kentucky State Police (KSP) helicopter, leading to two men being arrested.
Jaon McKee, 49, and Donald Boone, 55, are having their cases referred to the FBI after they were arrested, according to KSP.
On Nov. 3, a state helicopter was responding to Robertson County to help in the search for a missing 11-year-old.
The helicopter was targeted with multiple laser strikes during the search, KSP explained.

“During the incident, the pilot and tactical flight officer were repeatedly struck by a laser beam directed at the aircraft from the ground,” state police said. “The tactical flight officer sustained possible physical injury to his eyes as a result of the laser exposure.”
