A 55-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a vehicle Sunday night in Concord, police said.

The collision happened shortly before 8 p.m. on Monument Boulevard near Reganti Drive, where officers found the pedestrian unresponsive.

The man, whose name wasn't released, was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Concord police said Monday that the driver stayed the scene, and that drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the collision. No other information about what happened was immediately available.
