ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A north Alabama woman is being held in the Etowah County Jail on drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop recently.
According to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, Christi Dewanna Peppers, 51, of Crossville, was already on federal probation when agents with the Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit and the Marshall County Drug Task Force initiated a traffic stop.
During the stop, law enforcement found one-and-a-half pounds of methamphetamine, Clonazepam, drug paraphernalia and a firearm.
Peppers was taken into custody and is being held on a $100,000 bond.
Officials noted that the investigation is ongoing and that federal charges may be coming.
