HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Numerous Emergency responders are on the scene of an anhydrous ammonia leak southeast of Hastings.

Adams County Emergency Manager Ron Pughes said the leak was reported around 12:30 p.m. Monday at 4900 J street.

Pughes said the leak was limited to a small area there was no danger to the public or to nearby property.

He said a hazmat team was on the scene in addition to Hastings Fire and Rescue, Hastings Rural Fire department, and the Blue Hill and Glenvil volunteer fire departments.

He said the building in question was evacuated. One person suffered a minor exposure incident, but Pughes said he declined medical treatment at the scene.

Pughes said authorities were standing by while the gas dissipates.
