EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — A change of venue request has been made for a suspect accused of shooting and injuring an Evansville police officer.

Court records show 18-year-old Jailani Chew had a review hearing in Vanderburgh Circuit Court on Monday.

At the hearing, a motion for a change of venue was filed.

Chew was arrested on multiple charges, including Attempted Murder, after EPD Officer Sam Taylor was shot in the line of duty.

Court records show a new hearing date has been scheduled for Chew's change-of-venue request.

Chew's hearing date is set for Feb. 2 at 10 a.m.
