Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine has an unconventional vision for how Megadeth should end its farewell tour: He wants to perform a concert on the moon.
The 64-year-old frontman recently told Metal Hammer that the thrash metal band is planning a 2026 farewell tour and final album, but he hopes to cap off his long career off with a performance in space.
“I hope we’ll be playing up in space,” Mustaine said. “I think that will be a really fitting climax… a gig on the moon, a full moon landing, that would be cool. I saw they sent up a bunch of celebrities into space and I thought, ‘Well, if them, why not me?’, you know?”
Mustaine acknowledged the logistical challenges but expressed optimism about commercial space travel developments.
