San Antonio's gallery-filled Blue Star Arts Complex now has a new muse: Swanky wine bar and restaurant King William Wine Company has opened at 1420 S. Alamo #C102.

Co-owners Jill Quick-McCrosky and Juan Arreguin outfitted the space with deep moss green walls that highlight the sparkle throughout, from rows of wine glasses to a pair of chandeliers. Although the interior is contemporary, the entrance has the feel of a classic New York City tavern — right down to the velvet ropes and a pair of stone hounds guarding the door.

That timelessness extends to the menu, which features decadent European dishes such as butter-poached lobster tail served with corn velouté and beef osso bucco served with a bone marrow "canoe" and pecan gremolata. For a particularly festive evening, parties of six or
