COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person is seriously injured following a shooting in the Short North on Monday evening, according to a Columbus public safety dispatcher.
Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called on a report of a shooting in the 1100 block of North High Street shortly before 6:15 p.m.
The dispatcher said one person was transported to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in critical condition.
Sgt. Errich Taylor later told 10TV the victim was upgraded to serious but non-life-threatening condition.
Taylor said the shooting stemmed from an ongoing verbal argument between two adults that started earlier in the day.
Dispatchers also told 10TV someone in the area flagged down an officer claiming to be the shooter. That person has been taken into custody.
