A man has tragically died following a 'medical emergency' at a McDonald's restaurant.

The incident happened at the branch located on Stafford Trade Centre, off Eccleshall Road, in Stafford.

The authorities were alerted to the situation at 6.21pm yesterday evening.

West Midlands Ambulance Service has confirmed that an ambulance, two paramedic officers, and a critical care paramedic were dispatched to the scene, report Stoke on Trent Live .

A spokesperson for the ambulance service stated: "We were called to reports of a medical emergency.

"Crews arrived to find a man in a critical condition and administered advanced life support.

"Sadly, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene
