A Hartford man faces a variety of charges after initially fleeing an attempted traffic stop in West Hartford.

A 27-year old Hartford man who fled an attempted traffic stop by West Hartford Police on Monday faces a variety of charges after his attempted escape ended in a motor vehicle crash involving injuries.
According to Capt. Aaron Vafiades, officers attempted to stop a motor vehicle in the area of Kane Street on Monday, Nov. 17, at approximately 5:23 p.m., after observing multiple violations.
Vafiades said the driver got onto I-84 westbound and officers attempted a motor vehicle stop just east of Exit 43, but the driver fled at a high rate of speed and exited the highway. Officers did not pursue, but were able to observe the vehicle in various areas of West Hartford
