An investigation is ongoing after reports a goalkeeper was racially abused following Hartlepool United's home clash at the weekend. Pools drew 1-1 at home to Wealdstone FC at Suit Direct Stadium on Saturday, November 15.
Speaking in an interview after the match, Wealdstone manager Sam Cox said goalkeeper Dante Baptiste was subject to racial abuse from a football fan in the stands. It is understood the Football Association has been made aware of the incident.
Hartlepool United has confirmed an investigation is underway. A spokesperson for the club said: "We have been made aware of the incident. We are currently investigating this in depth, and appropriate action will be taken against any individuals responsible, once an outcome has been determined.
