BUFFALO, N.Y. — Independent Health and MVP Health Care announced that Independent Health will join MVP’s family of companies under a new affiliation. The agreement, which is pending regulatory approval, brings together two not-for-profit health insurers headquartered in New York.

The companies said the "affiliation" will align their strengths and deepen their shared commitment to improving lives across New York and Vermont. Together, MVP and Independent Health will serve nearly one million members and employ more than 3,000 people across the region.
