THE SCOOP The hamlet of Wyandanch is an enclave of affordable housing with its own Long Island Rail Road station and a solid track record of continuing development.
Among the highlights: Wyandanch Village, a highly successful income-restricted rental complex that has been built in phases since 2015, will add 202 apartments in January to the current 395. An 11-acre technology park promising 1,500 to 2,500 jobs won environmental approval in October. And the State Assembly announced in July that sports fields and other facilities at Wyandanch Park are getting a $1.1 million upgrade.
