MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — The John Milledge Academy Trojans have turned their football program around this season.

The Trojans finished 2024 with a 2-9 overall record, but rebounded to a strong 11-1 and a state championship game appearance.

"Just really ready to win. We are very prepared for this week," senior wide receiver Bryce McDonel said .

Making it to the final game is always a goal for the Trojans, but during the season, they realized it was actually within reach.

"When we beat Bethlehem at their place after losing to them at home and scoring that many points against them, it was eye-opening for us," McDonel said.

McDonel wasn't the only player who noticed what the team could be capable of.
