MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — Monroe County commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday morning to reject a proposed non-disclosure agreement with Google, ending a controversial proposal that drew standing-room-only opposition from residents concerned about government transparency.

County Attorney Ben Vaughn recommended the board vote against the agreement, telling commissioners it would complicate their obligations under Georgia's Open Records Act without actually modifying what information could be disclosed.
