BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
There will soon be new fitness facilities in Birmingham.
The Birmingham City Council has passed a resolution to use grant funds to establish three free and accessible outdoor fitness studios in collaboration with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and the National Fitness Campaign.
According to the city, the grant funds will be used to create three free and accessible fitness studios in Birmingham.
The city will match $981,000 for each studio.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and the National Fitness Campaign have already installed outdoor fitness courts in other areas of central Alabama, including Fultondale, Homewood and Hoover.
