When last season ended, Brady Murphy had the diagnosis. It was up to him to find the cures.

Everywhere his game and his body needed a fix, the senior went to work.

"It took a lot of desire and took some soul searching and sticking to it," Bloomington North coach Ken Hydinger said. "It was a significant effort and he did a great job."

Returning as the Cougars' No. 1 singles player, the senior was his best self, going 17-6 and earning a trip to the IHSAA singles regionals. That made Murphy the Herald-Times 2025 Boys Tennis Player of the Year.

The improvements came in several key areas.

"His serve was much improved," Hydinger said. "His balance was much better. He had a tendency to lunge for ball, striking down.
