A widely used Internet infrastructure company said it resolved an issue that led to website failures early Tuesday for users of everything from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette to ChatGPT and the New Jersey Transit system.
Just before noon, Cloudflare said its engineers no longer saw some of the issues plaguing its customers, but that they were continuing to monitor for any further problems.
The company said the cause was a file that set off "a crash in the software system that handles traffic for a number of Cloudflare's services." It said there was "no evidence that this was the result of an attack or caused by malicious activity."
The problem for Cloudflare temporarily affected the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and other WEHCO Media newspapers.
